So, for a while, I kind of thought this summer was going to be lame. Well, hopefully, it kind of continues like it has, I guess.
I got out of class yesterday, and then came home and relaxed for a while. And then, I went down to Des Moines to chillax with a friend from band. We ate dinner, and then went to a coffee shop in downtown Des Moines; it was next to the see-through Des Moines Public Library. Sweet.
So, this coffee shop, right? It was entertaining, to say the least. My friend told me that it was a gay coffee shop, and I'm thinking HURM, how is a gay coffee shop any different than a normal coffee shop? Well, normal coffee shops don't usually have three (or so) rainbow flags hanging outside.
And, usually, the first thing you see when you walk into a coffee shop is well, normal-ish. The first thing I saw when I walked in was a band-dealio (not that abnormal, yeah?). And then I noticed the people at the tables that were pushed together. The first couple of people I notice at this table were a couple of trannies. I'm tolerant, I am... but there's still something that kind of makes me smile when men dress up as women. sidenote: All of the trannies at the table were eating salad. Just an observation.
So, my friend and I sat there and talked/yelled (the music got loud sometimes) while she drank tea (infused with sugar) and I had two cups of BLACK coffee... It was some good coffee... NOM NOM NOM.
Afterwards, we headed back to the place my friend is living at this summer, and sat in the hot tub. Okay, so, hot tubs. They're time wasters. And by that, I mean that when I sit in a hot tub, I have no clue how long I've been in there. I couldn't give you an approximation more accurate than a long time or not a long time.
By the time we got out, it was almost two in the morning... at which point I remembered that one of my headlights is out, so I didn't want to drive back to Ames while it was dark. So, I ended up crashing there, and driving back this morning.
It was fun, and so far, my summer hasn't been lame. Maybe I'll find other people to chillax with too (who aren't super dramatic or who don't have ridic strict parents).
7 more weeks of classes left

I hate you guys
(... no offense)
Were you at the Ritual Cafe on 13th? That's my absolute favourite cafe in DSM! :)
OKAY OKAY, I don't hate you... sheesh.
Also, just a thought, maybe all of the trannies got salads before their meal came? Did you notice?
Mary--
This is me sending love to you... without postage. And no, I'm pretty sure the trannies were just eating salads... I didn't see any meals or anything brought out.
CX--
HECK YES I was at the Ritual Cafe! On Friday, whatever day that was.
