lazy lazy lazy

I'm being very lazy. I haven't really gotten anything done this summer. I have a neighbor who lives down the street from me who own a pottery shop (where you go and glaze your own pottery and they fire it for you), and I'm tempted to see whether she'd be willing to hire me for the next couple of months. It would give me something to do, and I'd make a little extra spending cash. That would be LOVELY.

I started practicing my trumpet again today, though. Seeing as how I'm being moved up to first part, I want to be able to play come time for hell week. I also don't want to look like I don't know what's going on, so I'm going to re-memorize the songs that are posted on the alumni website.

As I'm blogging, Darwin's sleeping on my lap with his head on my arm... it makes typing a little more interesting, I think. A couple of minutes ago, he like spasmed, and got really scared. Puppy dreams must be intense.

I'm also planning on running, starting soon. Being in shape would be lovely, especially come time for hell week. I think I might be running Midnight Madness, a 5k in Ames, but I'm not sure whether I'll be up for it or not. I ran my first 5k last year... "Ran" is kind of a loose term, though. I ran about half of it and walked the other half... ish. I finished in under an hour, though, which makes me happy. If I can get motivated enough to start running beforehand, I'll run the 5k, but I'd like to be able to run most of it... it would make me feel accomplished.

Other than that, I don't have anything else planned for the summer. I really should find something to do. Maybe Darwin would enjoy geocaching?
