So, I went to go see the DCI show in Dubuque yesterday. Overall, it was pretty awesome. My only complaint was that we didn't get there early enough to get a seat on the bleachers, so we sat off to the side on a grassy hill. And, I could see most of the field and whatnot (if I sat up super straight), but due to our position, the awesomeness of the sound was a little off.
But, basically, here's how it went.
I got up yesterday and went to my 8:30 class. And then, I went off to the bank with my parents so that I could be added as a co-signer to something... I should probably ask them what it is I signed. I'm not going to lie, I was kind of ridiculously tired at the time.
So after going home, I started some homework and turned on the TV for some background noise. Before I know it, it's like 11:30 am, and I needed to shower and get a few things together before I left for Dubuque/IC. It was my plan to leave before noon, but the shower was so warm and nice that I didn't get out until like 12:15. After rushing around the house, I met my mother at the gas station, and then left. I ended up leaving at like 12:30 or 12:40. This was lame.
On my way to IC, I picked up a guy I know from band who lives in West Des Moines. I offered to give him a ride, so I can't really complain, but West Des Moines is farther out of the way than I had remembered it being. I could probably have shaved at lease 20 minutes off of my drive if I had just driven alone.
Anyways, whatever. We got to IC and had a slice of pizza at Mesa (yum), and then met another couple of friends at a parking lot over my the "music building." And then we drove to Dubuque. After getting there, I had been in a car driving for about 4.5 hours.
We did the whole DCI thing, where I sat on a hill that was steep enough to where it make my butt AND my legs/joints hurt. Whatever, it was cool.
Afterwards, we had to stick around before leaving Dubuque to say hi to a friend and to wait for traffic to clear out. While we were waiting around, it started sprinkling. I wouldn't have minded, but I didn't think it was going to be as chilly as it was last night, and I had a tank top on. Brrr... I was FREEZING.
We drove back to IC, where I crashed at a friend's place... I ended up going to bed at about 3 in the morning... 6.5 hours of driving so far
Then, this morning, I got up at like, 8:10, and then woke people up so that I could leave for Ames, because I had to get back for a class.
So, as of noon today, I had done 9-10 hours of driving within 24 hours. Holy crap.
Moral of the story: I've got homework, and my butt hurts. This is bad, because I have to do homework sitting down.
i need some excersize or something

I've actually driven 5 hours to pick up toast in Minnesota, turned around, and drove the 5 hours back. I'm not sure why she didn't drive the 5 hours back. But yeah. I usually like driving long distances, but it sucked... you have my sympathy.
also, I'm pretty sure my verb tenses are fucked up in that comment (considering I used "have driven" and "drove" in the same sentence). Meh.
Also, re: whatever comment you left wherever, yes, we should hang out when you move back!
