Tonight, I could have gone to bed at like 1:30ish. But then, I decided to do my most recent programming assignment. And now, it's finished. I can play blackjack against a dealer for as long as i want. I'm not going to lie, it's pretty much the cooliest, and I'm pretty much a geek.
Tomorrow (or today, depending on how you look at it) and Sunday will be spent doing more homework. I've got chemistry, multi-variable calculus, linear/matrix algebra, more computer programming, and some of my advanced rhetoric to do.
I hate rhetoric... My TA's a bitch, and rhetoric's not supposed to be hard, it's just supposed to see whether a student can analyze material and then write/talk about it. So, when I have a 5-page paper that I write (and actually spend lots of time on, this is new), and I only get a 90% on it, I'm pissed. I could've spent less time on it, and probably have gotten the same grade.
I like math and science classes. There's a clear cut right or wrong answer. So, it's safe to say that a professor is grading fairly if I were to get something wrong. In rhetoric, though, it's tough to say somebody is flat-out wrong. I stayed neutral throughout my paper, and yet, my TA still finds things to disagree with.
Somehow, in our last class, we got into a discussion about abortion. She tried to tell us that all people who can be considered pro-lifers are Republicans or that all pro-lifers are Catholics. In all reality, I'm not pro-life, but it pisses me off when people make generalizations like that. Sure, there might be a lot of Republicans or Catholics who are pro-life. But, just because they are a Republican or a Catholic does not mean that they're pro-life.
Personally, I'm a hardcore advocate for pro-choice. I'm not going to get into it now, because it would take too long to write about. I'm just pissed at the stupidity of my advanced rhetoric TA; she used the 'pro-life' example, so that's the one that I used above. I'm most definitely pro-choice, so don't get the wrong idea.
Um, an added note... My advanced rhetoric TA didn't know anything about the Berlin wall. We had to explain to her:
- what the Berlin wall was and why it was constructed
- the sort of impact that the Berlin wall had on Berlin and Germany
- why Reagan asked the wall to be destroyed
Besides my hatred for all English classes (especially this rhetoric crap), my classes are going pretty well. I missed one on my computer programming test, and two on my chemistry II test... Compared to the averages on both of these tests, I did very well. Woo hoo!
I also got my linear algebra test back, and didn't do as well as I had hoped, but still did better than a lot of other people. I was also able to argue with the teacher to get some of my points back. Basically, I asked her a question in class for clarification, and she gave me a straightforward answer. And then, she proceeded to mark off points for that question, even though I specifically asked her about it. lame.
Anyways, on Thursday, I took my multi-variable calculus test, and I think I get the results back for that on Tuesday. I thought it went pretty well... I guess we'll have to see then.
I've also got choir to go to twice a week. I'm glad I signed up; it's really relaxing, and I've met some super cool people.
Hmmm... well, I think that just about covers it! It's time for me to go to bed...
daylight savings time on Sunday... yay more sunlight

Hey Kelsey, I just wanna let you know that it's a joy reading your blog. I can't agree more with some of the things you said, and there is a reason why I am messing with 'real' physical sciences lol. I'm sure you'll do well with the calculus. Keep up the good work!
