So, I guess I'm kind of progressing through this summer. I've got three weeks of summer school under my belt, and dance recital weekend is over. However, I've got another five weeks of class this summer, and a lot of other things that I need to get done.
I've tried to find a job, but at this point, I think that I'll just stick to focusing on my classes. I'm thinking that money is awesome, but I can work this upcoming semester... and I intend to. I need to get my application in to be an engineering tutor, but I haven't been able to find the time to fill out the online application. There are a couple of short-answer/essay questions associated with sending this application in, so I have to try to make it as perfect as possible, of course. The following are the questions for the application... let me know if you have any ideas/comments!
Why are you interested in tutoring?
I've always liked helping others learn, and I've been told that I'm generally good at it. Can I say on the application that I rock? If not, that's too bad, cuz when it comes to tutoring, I do.
Describe any work experience that would be beneficial to you as a tutor.
I'm loud. Does that count???
Identify three reasons students might seek tutoring services.
1) To have somebody else (who they know knows their stuff) do their homework for them.
2) To get somebody to help them stop procrastinating.
3) To see me.
Choose one of the reasons from the last question and describe how you might assist students with this.
Well, if I'm an engineering tutor and people show up to come see me, then I could help them by being there, right? Sure, that makes sense.
Right. Well, seriously, though... I think being an engineering tutor would be awesome. I've always loved helping people out, and I think that it would be even cooler if I could do it all the time. Also, if I happened to have a question about something I was doing, I'd be right there with a bunch of other smart people... there's a good chance that I'd be able to get help if I needed it, too.
I've heard from a lot of people that one should surround his or herself with people who are (at least) equals when it comes to academics. Usually, everybody around me comes and tries to get my help with homework. It'd be nice to know that I'm not the only one there to try to figure out a problem... If I can't get it, it'd be nice to know that with the other people in the room, there's a good chance that the problem would get solved... eventually.

Haha. You are a smartass, even in your job applications... love it.
But in all seriousness, are you really going to say all of that stuff? :P
I guess with the insane BS-ing mania that I have when filling out job applications... if you don't have "work experience" you can always mention HMB/whatever the hell you did in daum/WISE... duh... because they all help you learn to work with people, and, well, because WISE is obviously related to engineering. I'm not sure if loud tutors are the best tutors... but then again, I've never had a tutor, so maybe they are!
Umm. My advice is probably unwanted. Sorry.
